Keeping things real, the project I'm working on is primarily going to be for me and my friends, making it more of a Co-op RPG than an MMORPG. As such, one of the things I want to lean into is Phasing, and I want the world to change as you progress through the quests. However, I've not been able to fully wrap my head around how Phasing works, and what its limitations are.
For example, I am wanting to create a number of questlines that has you retaking and rebuilding the Echo Isles, routing and repurposing Tiragarde Keep, and dealing with some of the other creature types in various ways, as well as having a few one-off changes on a quest-by-quest basis. Each of these would change the world incrementally, and they're separate questlines, completable as the players see fit.

I'm using AzerothCore. You're right, 32 masks for it; I've been doing a lot of searching and the last few I looked at talked about 12.

I've seen the comment in the Core that says setting m_useCombinedPhases to false opens up more phases than I could ever use. But if I go that route, then would I need to create a different phase for each possible combination?

Or am I overthinking things?
