the primary benefit of the interpolation that wow uses for other player characters is that it tends to look more smooth, and that's good enough for most scenarios out in the world

going into prediction time will cause more visible jankiness, and while that might be justifyable for arena it wouldn't be worth it for the overworld

ye in solo content it would be nice, but for grp content it can bring rng moments when u have to react on a dropping health bar and then u see that u could have prepared something else in the meantime

but it's also a pretty large reason why mmorpgs tends to prefer the style of combat wow has, it allows you to very liberally define the reaction windows without the game feeling too weird
