Because then people wont get stuck on mismatched libs, and if they get errors we can say. Go mysql or fix it yourself

I'm not talking about a simple SELECT ... FROM ... WHERE (SELECT ... FROM ...) but when you have multiple layers, 3-4+ selects within each other it just refused to load

I can't remember exactly which part of creature it was loading that it got stuck on. Perhaps I should migrate my databases back to my mariadb servers to see if it still does it

It was a change to improve performance for mysql that gimped performance for mariadb and it was quite some time ago. I know it was a big discussion here at the time too.
