Could download the official repo then and do all the steps and when it's done importing everything just switch back to the normal repo

download the commit I linked above, run cmake etc etc etc, start the server and let it update the database, shut it down and go back to the one you normally use and update it.

You will need to reset the entire source to the head btw, those duplicate files need to go. If you can't get it to work then yes just nuke it.
