I don't use Lua much but most cores I've seen have it built-in so I wouldn't be against that either. Hell, if Lua could do everything C++ modules can I would consider it just for the hotswapping and ease when updating.

Not everything, but everything a module can. Possibly a new event is required . But definitely possible.

Yeah, that's my point. Whatever a module can do, Lua can do. If that was the case, it would be an amazing alternative. There is a ton of things that couldn't be done in Lua last time I played around with it though.
