So to be clear, my order of operations to have my buddy join my server over the internet would be.
1. port forward 3724 and 8085
2. set my firewall to only accept incoing connections from my friends IP assuming they have a fixed IP
3. ???

Even though I had port forwarded those ports on my firewall and router it wasn't working still. So this is what I ended up doing.

Interesting, this seems extremely simple and straight forward. So my friends will need to download the wow client and Hamachi. But they don't need Azerothcore do they?
