Do what you want but you should try to compile your own core, there are much more steps than using a repack but it will prevent you to have many issues than with repack.
Trinity core and azeroth core have their source updated reguraly. Using a repack, you will have a deprecated server that you won t be able to fix or update. You will also avoid repack that got cryptominer or worse.

Idk tswow, but from what Kebful is saying, it is open source, so you can update and change your core.

With Repack you only have acces to a limited built, probably outdated and you can t do much except changing and tweaking few database.

Az and tc have their source on github, when you have setup the pre required sofwtare you just need to pull the new commits and built which is just few clicks and will save you a lot of trouble than using a repack.
