Bad implementation: use cpu and per pixel algorithm to copy pixels from component to target. (this can explain the compression and size hard lock(if there is one) )
Good implementation: use gpu and shaders for combining

Anyone around here that can help shed more light on this? There has to be a way to go beyond 128x64
