But ran into some problems. Even a simple test with 1 upscaled texture from 128x64 to 512x256 did not work, got the CTD's again.
Have the name right, blp version right, alpha info check and palette conversion to 256 in order.
The same altered texture exported in its native resolution works...
So my conversion process is not the problem, it must be the resolution increase.
**Any texture wizards got any idea?**
I get to character selection but just as Im about to see the char i get crash. single mpq with 1 texture (NE F torso) upscale test.
If I where to guess, maybe the engine itself is expecting a 128x64 and when given some other resolution it just shits itself?

I do not remember for sure, but I think engine expects blp textures for character components to be in one specific blp compression

Also, the engine combines textures on top of texture of a specific size. So upscalung component blp won't giv you anything, since it will be essentially downscaled to a lower size when merged to a final texture

(given that there is no hard lock on texture size in pixels for components. Cause there might be on in place as well)

Yeah, got the compression right. blp2 with its good stuff. noted the altered texture i converted worked ingame, but once it was upscaled the game went apeshit..

Hmm, did not take that into account.

the combiner in the game must be the issue then

i bet if i could crack that head open and take a look at it, im sure its super locked into 128x64. feed it anything else and it shits out.
