Would have forever been a cat and mouse game while all his customers using it on Ascension would continue to get banned. Unless he wants to sink all his time and money into it sure. But Ascension has endless funding to win in the end, it just took awhile to get good enough for fancy general solutions and if it continued things would have gotten deeper.

Well I do hate him for the business he runs but I don't know him. I hate people who cheat and bot in MMOs.

Think it is more about the opponent probably not being that sophisticated, a lot of tricks you can use to stay under the radar, you can entirely spoof the return address too, it makes it infinitely harder for you, the only reason its easy is because he leaves traces, and probably because again like you mentioned the goal is not to stay hidden, but to I guess keep a steady income stream or something

I think that it's just like 95% of his customers were probably blizzlike servers and didn't want to spend time dealing with each custom servers individually. Plus his entire bot targeted retail and is designed around avoiding Warden. Sure, I could write a bot to avoid my own anticheat too. Doesn't mean I want to invest the time updating it every week. You have to remember that each update means all his customers would be detected and banned. So it's not like he wins just because he avoids the latest anticheat feature or something.

I do agree with you that it is probably because he isn't that interested in staying undetected on Acension, but it is also my belief that the "we can just ban them every so often by changing one thing" is a very naive out look. If you can't find any traces, you can't detect him. You have entire business that work by making anti cheats, and there are cheats who stay undetected for years / indefinitely, because those who write the cheats, understand how to make it next to impossible to detect, that was primarily what I was pointing out before.
