i would say a necessary skill is being able to inderstand x86 ASM, otherwise you will get frustrated pretty soon, since you can't understand many things

(that IDA probably outclasses ghidra in terms of generated decomp code is undenieable, but ghidra should be more than good enough for nearly all cases... let's hope ghidra improves in that regard as well )

the exact ASM isn't that important i would say, as it is the way of thinking necessary for ASM which is the important part... it's quite different to higher level languages... once you got the concept, you have it way easier to understand any other ASM imho

I know it has registers and commands like jump if not equal to [register] and such stuff but that's probably it. That was like 10+ years ago

ASM just really helps if you want to solve problems, NOPing instructions or changing code flow.

Is it enough to look at the reversed C code IDA/Gidhra generates or will i find myself often to look at the ASM code aswell?
