Different compilers might generate the same output for both cases, depending which binaries you have checked.

Because I know for a fact both signed/unsigned functions exist and in fact you can find them in most builds.

Pretty sure both functions will be generated in debug builds, for release I would guess they get optimized away (e.g. 335 release build)
