it will definitely have a lot of overlaps when using use smaller brush size around the midle point

that would happen regardless this is basically just a band aid fix to reduce amount of work to fix objects, and in case of using massive brush size it work well

yes but if u are checking only height then if u put house into hole in ground it could collide with walls of that hole with its corners or ? (im pointing that out as downside of this simple way of doing it)
