Not at the PC so haven't been able to check myself, but it seems like in the cactus quests it's deduced by the gameobject_loot_template having QuestRequired=1, and then the core is logically inferring all the quests that could be required to open the gameobject based on the item ID in gameobject_loot_template

So the cactus is a gameobject type = 3 (chest) and data1 points to the gameobject_loot_template entry

Yeah if what you're trying to do is based on it being items in those gameobjects it would be enough to put "QuestRequired=1" and add the entry in gameobject_questitem (gob ID + item ID)

That is it, also, there is different id's for different objects from Lock.dbc
