I think it should only finish the exploration requirement if you trigger the area trigger so you just have to add the requirement to do the gossip action i guess

if i remember correctly you add an object or kill requirement to the quest and with a script (usually a smart_script which is fully possible via database, no real coding required) you set that requirement to done.. You can probably find a smart_script editor for your core pretty quick. If you're using Azerothcore, you can use Keira3 (https://github.com/azerothcore/Keira3) which will make your life much easier, also in other parts

I’m using Trinity core currently but have been using Azeroth Core documentation since they seem transferable aside from a few specific tables or IDs
