I stopped understanding what i need to do after "Get the 2d screenspace min and max extents of the selection box" and i'm not even sure if that is correct lol

I can't ask specific questions because i miss too much basics. I know what a matrix in general is but everything after that is just unknown to me. I have no idea what the modelview projection matrix is, i have no idea what i have to calculate nor do i know any of the formulas. Plus reading some of code of e.g. the used vector classes with its endless list of templates etc is just horrible

I think the projection matrix is like the area you see if you take point of camera + rotation + screensize into account but that was like the furthest i've read into 3d stuff

You need to use your rubber band rectangle like if it’s the screen shape and then calculate each model inside the rubber band view,
Then you must need to create your own projection matrix to do this
