im not sure what u actually mean....from data section i get all offsets so if those are wrong thats not inconsistency but error

it's your data section doesn't need to point into the string block in order

Compressing is slow? I just have a hash data struct checking to see if a string has already been written then reuses that pointer

yes and ? im not reading them while i read data i read them after that and place it back into data...if that makes sense

i probably just misunderstood what you mean with how you read the string block, but there is no way to read c strings except for byte by byte

while im reading data i just create myself array of offsets then i read strings and then i replace offsets by strings in data structure

It's a pretty trivial overhead, I doubt it adds more than 100ms to a DBC serialisation
