the header also isn't entirely static, they contain data specific for the various dbc files (like how many columns there are etc), and the field for how many rows are in the file must be updated each write of course

aside from that, dbc is among the simplest binary file formats there are, so it's a great practice project if you really don't want to use the existing tools to work with them

well i rly dont want to spoil linux with c# and it would be just another thing on top of already complicated build....and obviously knowledge is good

just be prepared that it's still a significant effort to do what you want to do, it's just the file format itself that's relatively simple

ye i currently got script which is loading that file and generating files which will generate database structure and then i will insert dbc data (pls just dont ask)

small issue is that from my knowledge that is not complete right ? there are some columns which dont have names
