And to be fair the cores themselves don't provide any real docs on what should be considered good for a production server with X population that people can use to roughly extrapolate from.

Same with some of the configuration that you can kind of tell are for performance but not well explained like what would be recommended for the various worldserver conf threading options.

As with most things performance related, 'it depends'. The optimal settings are going to entirely depend on your use case. Better documentation and examples would help though
