Wild accusation: Blizz recognises that private servers reach people they don't reach by themself - and some of those who played private servers end up at some point paying for a subscription. So offering old clients for download is recognised as beneficial for business

All of the Blizz devs that I was in contact with knew that I was developping my WoW client. They were also aware I had a private pserver setup. I showed them the videos of my client connecting to it
