Adding new items via SQL, using existing game assets. Do I need to worry when selecting a value for 'entry'? I see the max 'entry' in acore_world.item_template is 56806, so I was going to start my customs at 56807, but I also notice that these entry ID's in item_template are not perfectly sequential. Do I need to worry about conflicting with other tables if I go with my max+1 strategy?

Right on, thanks! Yeah, might make more sense to start at 60000 so it's easy to tell it's my custom

For posterity, I got an error when running worldserver - Item (Entry: 60000) does not exist in item.dbc.
This seems like just a warning. I'm able to equip the item and see the stat changes just fine. Two bag-related bugs though: I can't right-click to equip it (it's a hat), and the icon is a question mark. Just in the backpack though. Will update if I find a fix for those

Would that be an MPQ edit linking the new entry ID to an existing icon?

Add another entry in item.dbc and use it, server needs it and the client needs it in a MPQ archive yes.
