127.0.0.1 is the host computer, so it won't recreate your issues, that would bypass the firewall and any networking that you have setup

Why external doesnt work for you is because in local network you dont need to forward your internal traffic. So your laptop has to use local ip of your server.

If you are using the WAN IP and it's connecting to the AUTH server though the forwarding should be working ok
