The people in the video ask, how to basically get their friends in. What ports do you have to open... those types of questions...

You can't cover all bases, there are plenty of different setups out there and it's really impossible to cover them all. I'd figure a video about AzerothCore should cover.. AzerothCore, and possibly Windows-related issues that can occur (like firewall)

People could spend some time googling on how to do something with their provider instead of asking you, and it's not your responsibility to get them all the way there.

How would you even offer suggestions on configuring a router with a VPS?

With a vps, you could cover them all. Because you start with a machine that has nothing installed, not even a web browser. Downloads and installs, everything you need. And then, you show them the firewall as the last topic. The topics can be covered.
