You're not sitting on a x million user mq implementation where latency overhead on windows matters, you're not hosting a huge 1000 os footprint infrastructure where ops would be impossible to handle reasonably, you're hosting a single application where you already need stupid amounts of resources if you want to keep everything loaded in memory so what does 500mb extra memory for windows matter

to be fair one good case is hosting on less than 16GB of ram where if windows takes 1-2GB more than linux thats something
