Sure, getting everything set up for the very first time is confusing but once you get it done it's really, really easy to maintain it.

even the issue the other guy is having, where the game just crashes. i had that with an old trinitycore repack.

Crash logs are available for Windows easily and for Linux using gdb. If we get to see one of those, we can (probably) tell them why it's happening.
