But the player will respawn/rez with gold in their pocket... from a lore perspective, it wouldn't make sense. It would work, but not really make sense.

i dont see how buying it from a vendor compared to talking to an npc using gossip makes a difference

Although, I _could_ but a Discworld slant on it and say, "The law forbids a scavenger from taking money so the returning hero can at least get a stiff drink and a hot meal after having everything stripped from their skinny, pale, wet, dead body."

I'll go with the above. I just want to use a vendor because I want _any_ player to be able to buy another (recently dead) player's scavenged goods.
