I really only do DBC edits since everything I change require changes on both sides and it's just easier for me to keep track of a single file instead of a file *and* SQL queries.

u need to edit files for client anyway so why create more work doing it in db

If it's nothing the client needs changed, adding to the tables is the better choice (I still don't think so but I know the general public feels that way).

Generally the reasoning is *No need to edit DBC files* because that's a solid argument. In the end it's personal preference, I guess.

hmm, a fair argument i guess- but it feels like from the way I used to do it, modifying the dbc directly sounds much more familiar to me- so i'll probably look at that approach!

i'll keep an open mind though and see what feels more comfortable

I don't call it a fair argument. Keep in mind that I prefer DBC file editing over DB entries which is probably why I don't think the argument holds up.
