5 players? Hell, you could run it on 1 core. 2 should suffice but of course compiling will take a really long time (90 minutes probably).

First of all it depends on the OS used. Windows I'd say at least 4. On a server-based linux OS it could be done with 2 but I'd get at least 3 or preferably 4 just to be safe if possible.

If you have a choice and the ability to upgrade you could give it a go with 2 and if it's not enough upgrade.
