Can I drop the world db and it will rebuild from default? I added a lot of patches thinking I was getting bugs but maybe it's just the client side vs server side.

Sadly the only good choice are to either not use the DBC files, so all crafting will be WotLK version but with Vanilla result items, or to have all players apply the patch, which can be confusing. It is not having a "golden solution."

It is only professions and crafting that are impact by the optional patch. All item data is server-side, so the items should always be correct.
