GW2, completely outclassed WoW on that front. They haven't increased level cap since release (and a lot of people seem to be finding out for the first time just how good that game is at the moment)

i hated gw2 lack of gear progression at end game, its all the same stats if you do a mythic 5 or mythic 50

id be cool with cata heroics/raids only and skipping hte lvel bit, just let me take my icc25h/halion25h gear, do cata normals>heroics>raids and just make it a bunch of portals where the zone portals where

Like maybe WoW shouldn't have had 'quest giver rewards this item, this much gold, and this much XP', and instead had a path through a set progression of gear items for each class and spec (along with scaling XP and gold), and every time you get a quest reward, it just progresses through that path.
And like with GW2, content would scale up to your level, but not down, so all leveling is really doing is opening up more areas.
