Oh good thinking! I'll try building boost with sudo. I'm surprised it wouldn't prompt me if it ran into problems lol

I think I figured it out, way back in one of my earliest messages of this conversation I actually found the include directory without knowing what it meant. For me, it's at /usr/include/boost instead of /usr/local/include/boost
