I can't believe there are no drivers for debian, either way. I had issues with ESXi not supporting a realtek driver I had to use but the community fixed it.

I assume 3.0 got LTS and it's more secure, just not used by everything (yet). 1.1 is supported until late 2023 if I'm not mistaken.
