It is, but I prefer to limit the address rather than have separate users. That's also because I only host internally and nothing is open to the outside. But no matter what, if I were to open mariadb to the outside - no one is allowed to connect from those unknown ips anyway.

and root is obviously only allowed to connect from 127.0.0.1, duh :p

ye but for example, im just running the server on vps where i got directadmin as hosting panel. its just default to have different user for each db there too

Maybe it is. I wouldn't know. No one can access my servers regardless unless they have my private key. I wouldn't know about a hosting site / vps, there's where you would be correct.

yee has to be correct, more bad 3char passwords is always more safe

but ye, always thought that is the thing that the acore installer isnt handling, and it rly was not, it was just the # char

It's also good practice to take regular backups just in case something happens. I take one every hour of absolutely everything, don't wanna lose that precious data. I assume that's kinda built-in with the vps

Yeah, like I said it's more for basic people. Good to have, but not for the advanced user.
