Yeah I get that, but you're essentially freezing the function execution until you receive the callback from the method

As long as you expect a return value in the function call, you'll have to wait for the return from the method to process the return variable, no?

Aha, yeah that makes more sense then, I'd personally set up a new event type where you can process every sql return rather than passing function objects around, but that's whatever

it's fine if you use only one query in your script but otherwise it will quickly get tedious

Sure, I'd handle it that way regardless, much rather have one sql return function to deal with all data return than a large amount of functions
