No, it really doesn't. I believe you can create UI elements without actually having an addon installed, or at least that's my impression after reading several peoples modules etc. If it's possible, perhaps a way for the user to open a UI element to see all the mounts linked to their account?

From what i understand, you need a Client modification or an addon for a new Interface.

Oh, in that case - my bad. I just read some people talking here a while back about being able to trigger UI without actually installing an addon.

The adaptative mount is a single script, registered only once in the code. It also works with a db table linking all the correct spells for a specific mount, which the script uses with the spellid of casted spell

So it feels less work than a UI thing. Still, it only need the visual elements you wanna show to be put in the client patch, and you can of course use these that are already in game files. Then, add the communication add-on to the game client (either in a patch or directly as an add-on). That's not that much of client editing if you don't use many custom images. All the functionnal part would be done server-side.

You can always do it using an addon. There's no need to modify the client for that. That way, the users aren't required to modify their client but rather just download an addon if they want that extra information.

You're not editing the client, you're creating an addon. That's not quite the same though.
