It uses parsed assets from the game itself, which in large parts play a big role in how systems have to be designed under certain circumstances, forcing it to be the same in principle

I can't really test the performance of the engine if I can't use the assets, and there really would be no point in doing all of this work if I were to just add a bunch of models on screen and call it a day

but will it connect to AC or any other existing emulator? No, so don't expect it to be a drop in replacement for the wow.exe

It'll probably be like 95% the same to be honest, in terms of what it looks like and feels like, I think wow is the best MMO in terms of how it "feels" to play, and to capture that would be very important just on that alone, setting aside that it is wow specifically.

So what is the 5% that's different?

Just pulling your leg here, but I think this is closing the conversation nicely.

Could be odd bugs that exist in the client that I don't really know about, or very weird behavior with flickering models etc. We aim to solve things like that. Hardcoded occluders and such are not that great in my opinion, and I'd like to get rid of them. These kind of differences there will be plenty of, but they shouldn't impact the gameplay or feels. If there is some bug that causes wow to be distinctly better to play because of it, then I'd be open to replicate it too.

You'll also get a lot more right, for those 5% difference, you'll also get streamed content in real time, multiplayer editing for you and your staff team, for all aspects of the game. You'll be able to have thousands and thousands of units on screen at any given time. Ideally if we can manage it properly 250-500vs250-500 battles etc
