Okay so I tested spellfamily_potion, no good. I switched the spell family back to the one that matches the class I'm editing, and it worked. Looks like the client is looking for a class->spell family id match

I can work with this though.... a lot of tedious work ahead to change values but at least I know now. Thanks for talking it out with me Mithria

I guess theres something in the client that links the class to their unique spell family. wonder how people get around that with custom classes then

That's a good question, because I have seen projects with custom classes like Duskhaven

The only thing I can imagine is they've managed to decompile the client in some way or hex edit their way to the changes they need

naw its not that complicated, its probably just that the class is registered in the dbc and based on an id or position it links to one of the non-class families like potion

oh yeah, it looks like SpellClassSet column in ChrClasses.dbc has the spell family id

Always a valid question, but yep, restarted a few times to check with different approaches
The dual spec cost also stays at 1000 (so 10 silver)in the DB but doesn't work in-game

Have you checked whether it actually reduces the money on hand by the full amount or if it just says it requires it and actually only takes 10 silver? I think the conf specifically mentions changing the cost of guild bank tabs will have that behavior.
