I mostly use Windows myself. But I have a free-of-charge remote server with enough resources to slowly compile an AC server (I think it takes some 45 minutes to build cacheless) and WinSCP and SSH around in there

i would say use what u have....if u have windows i wouldnt try to force something like wsl

I think the setup for wsl+bash is simpler than the actual windows build instructions, personally. I already had it from other things, but I may have gone that way anyway.
I'm running on my local PC just for myself, though I'll probably set up LAN connection if I can talk my wife into playing. It takes maybe 3 minutes or so for most of my builds, probably still less than 10 if I need to clean first.
