flesh hunters will also run off on their patrol then you will never have to worry about them patrolling and coming up behind you like they do on retail because their patrol just stops as soon as you cant see them

In many (most?) instances, mobs are supposed to be visible from many hundred yards so that sounds like a creature_template bug

so are you saying that stuff like the fel reaver not patrolling until people saw him at his spawn point was an older issue? or another really big example of it was fozruk in arathi*, you would never find him anywhere away from where he spawned

I more or less play solo and can confirm that that mf will sneak up and stomp me to death in random places in Hellfire Peninsula without me visiting his spawn point....

ah yeah, still an issue without the all waypoint npcs active this guy sits in the back of arathi in a really out of the way spot and you never see him patrol:
