You do not do anything regarding .conf files before using cmake, hence it's not mentioned.

You copy the dist file in the **build** directory and remove the .dist from the copy. Not in the **source** directory.

If this is a message the user is seeing we're talking Linux and not Windows so the build directory is not where it would be.

Ok, so to clarify what I am currently doing after figuring? this out:

```1. git clone module to azeroth/modules
2. run cmake...
3. new files show up in /server/etc/modules
4. in this dir, i cp conf.dist to .conf
5. make changes```

which of these steps am I doing wrong?
