If you don't have a problem working for it, you can also set up a Wireguard VPN and use that. That's how I do it now.

Wireguard yes definitely. It's the best but Search the internet for wireguard tutorial and then you can see if it would be something for you.

Hamachi, if it's still good today, isn't complicated. In the past, you only had to create an account and send a request to your friend, and that was basically it. But first find out if Hamachi really still does it for free. It's been a really long time since I used it. I don't want to recommend any bad software here.
