Is he using any modified wrath client? or can you create a char?
Since youre using linux forget rAdmin.
But admin you install, create a network, people join, like hamachi, but no login is requierd, and you're not capped at 5 users per group like hamachi.
Also they allow you to change your class of IP, if example if you want an old game that only supports Class C IPs (while Hamachi nly supports Class A) leading to not finding at all the games or giving an error

I think the last time i had this issue with my gf's pc was when the server wasnt ported fowarded or firewall expection
