Okay yeah, so how DHCP works is, whenever you connect a device it'll just automatically give an address to the device. Ideally you want to have a range of IP's that *isn't* given out automatically so you can assign static IP's to things like servers

So if you change the last 254 to like, 200, then it'll reserve 201-254 as static addresses

I have static IPs assigned in my router and I can't use them to assign static IPs in an OS because the router won't give them the IP.
