Thats why I asked for forgiveness. I'm not 100% clear how the windows compile/install of the core goes. I havn't played in windows since Cmangos

No problem you are too kind, I used the dashboard setup the first time when installing AzerothCore and that worked

And everything worked well but when I try to start the auth/world server I get that error

So I compiled Azerothcore, then I took my libmysql.dll from mysql folder

Ah gotcha. I took a quick peak in the windows instructions for classic. It mentions sql-8 ie suggested. I run MariaDB on Debian Linux... You might have to adjust the cmake settings or install an earlier version of mysql. but i'm totally spitballing on the mysql side. If I am not mistaken the dashboard install senses the install environment and makes the proper cmake commands. The classic instructions also note a lot about sql
