I think my BLP converter converted to a texture with an alpha channel (Which I see is a no-no for skin files.). After converting my png to blp without an alpha alpha channel it seems all is well! I'll continue editing. BLPConverter.exe /H to the rescue!
If there are easier ways to make these face transplants I'm all ears though
