Error box where? Trying to export from blender or trying to load it in the client? If its in the client, check wowdev.wiki client error analysis page, if its in blender it could be a hundred different reasons, and not all of them are apparent from the error it gives. It just requires to know how the model has to be set up, and then setting it up exactly that way and in no way else. If that's the issue, try looking at other models from the game to see how they do things and where potentially you are doing it differently

It looks like the problem is clientside, because when I converted the m2 to m2i, and I loaded it into Blender, the model still works.

Oh THAT error box. Yes, that is client side. The path to the model is wrong. Check your itemdisplayinfo.dbc
