if you open a CLI you can run it that way rather than drag-drop if you want it to stay open and read what it returns

Most cmd programs will not block the output until the user inputs. It will just terminate and close the window since the program closed, so it flashes and you see nothing. These programs are designed to be run from command prompt, powershell, or in a bat script, if you want the output
