I know that when you create new map instances, you need to add them to Map.dbc and MapDifficulty.dbc
But when you're editing map object placement in an existing map, Kalimdor map for example, do you also need to push a dbc update to the server?
Because just putting a client mpq patch seems to be enough

for major map edits or when adding custom/new maps, you should definitely re-generate the map files in order for pathing and etc to work properly

What map files do you mean on the server side?
Is there a database table, or a dbc that stores map layout info?

Thanks
Re-generating them is enough, or do edits need to be made?
