depends, i mainly use the 'ghost gate' gameobject to close stuff if it needs an invisible barrier. Or are you looking to create a custom barrier?

gameobject "ghost gate" - id : 180322
is basicly a bar that you can place below the floor (it does this automaticly, it spawns it a tiny bit below your current position) and it will block the space above it. Its pretty usefull in some cases

Idealy you put it in a wmo or adt however as too many gameobjects will slow your server down
