not sure if I fixed it or if it worked from the beginning, but you need to have your pet dismissed so that it shows on the stable master with the option to purchase a slot

and the client has access to the info, its just that it wont show on the pet UI if you are not a hunter, but it can be done so that a command like /petinfo or something shows the information

Also it might be possible to show the info by using a UI from an addon instead of the blizzard one

or now that Im thinking, the blizzard UI interface comes in the form of addons with open source code, arent they? might be easy to modify
